It had been about 2 years since Jason and I were in front of the camera and we thought it was probably time to update the images on our website.  We really wanted to the images to reflect our personalities and how we interact with each other.  I’m not going to lie, I was super nervous to be in front of the camera but I totally trusted our photographer/good friend Emily of Emily Ku Photography, and knew she would do a great job.  And she did.  We really love our pictures and had a wonderful time hanging out with Emily.  Having professional makeup done by the fabulous Megan, owner of Makeup in the 702, really helped make me feel ready and confident for our photo session.  You can see more of our session on Emily’s blog HERE!

I’m so happy we were able to finally update our images!  We added some of our favorites to our home page slideshow, so that everyone coming to our site can now  get a glimpse of who we are before meeting us in person :)

Emily: Thanks again for the wonderful pictures we now have and for being such a great friend and talented photographer!  xoxo

Last month we headed out to Orange County, CA to photograph Emmy Lou & Brian’s Laguna Beach engagement session. Check it out here, if you haven’t seen this gorgeous session!  While we were there we also got to hang out with some friends over dinner and meet their new baby girl!  We spent our last day at the Discover Center in Santa Ana.  It was the perfect place to spend a cold & rainy afternoon indoors.  They had an awesome Star Wars exhibit and also a Dora the Explorer area for the younger kids.  It was perfect for our family!  Jason & Diego went into the Star Wars exhibit, while Elysse & I played in the Dora area.  We then met up and spent the rest of our time exploring the science center together.  As with most science centers, there were lots of fun hands-on exhibits for the kids to enjoy, especially for our 7 year old!

We were glad we finally got to visit the Discovery Center out there and most importantly, we got to spend a super fun afternoon together, as a family :)

Earlier this month Jason and I were talking about doing something fun with the kiddos, but didn’t want it to 1) cost a ton of money and 2) involve tv, video games, movies.  So, Jason came up with the fun idea of having a family shoot out day.  We headed to Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area which we have an annual pass for and is our favorite place for hikes.  Jason gave Diego & Elysse each an old point and shoot camera and told them to take all the pictures they wanted and of whatever they wanted.  Of course, Jason and I also took our cameras ;)

We went on a trail we hadn’t been on before and had a great time taking pictures, getting some fresh air, exercise, and some good quality family time.  Later, we sat together and looked at everyone’s pictures as a slideshow.  The kids loved seeing the pictures they took and complimented each others pictures.  Here are a few of our favorites from our afternoon family shoot out.
