This past Saturday, I was able to cross off one more thing from my 101 in 1001 list and from our The Happy Family Movement Summer Bucket List Challenge!  YAY

My sister and I put together a Summer Camp theme party for our sons.  They worked hard all school year and deserved a fun-filled day being with their friends and having a blast.

We knew we’d have lots of kids and the idea of doing the party in one of our homes, was not very appealing. So, we opted for an outdoor location and rented the pavilion at Red Springs in Red Rock Canyon.  This pretty much set the theme for our party.  We went with a summer camp/camping theme and used the boys’ favorite colors and their initials to create the {Camp J & D} logo, which we used throughout the party.

At the end of the party, each kid received a “happy trails” goodie bag and a Camp J&D bottled water for the road.

Norma baked the cupcakes and of course, they had to keep in line with our camping theme.

Lunch was kept simple with traditional burgers and chips.  We also had fresh fruit and lots of water and juice boxes.

Upon arrival, each child received a bandana and their activity card.  The bandanas really helped set the mood and got everyone into the camping spirit.

We set up a craft table so the kids could decorate their walking sticks, leather bracelets, and work on creating a fun craft.

We had these cute green & purple bags to use for the Scavenger Hunt.

Jason had to help the kids make the leather bracelets, kids & hammers don’t mix well…
